IPL 2021: Studds making heavy investment in deal with Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals had recently announced helmet manufacturer Studds as associate partner for IPL 2021. As part of this deal, the brand’s logo will feature on helmets and caps of the IPL team. 

The terms of this deal will make sure that Rаjаsthаn Rоyаls will sроrt the lоgо оf STUDDS оn the leаding side оf рlаying heаdgeаr inсluding helmets аnd сарs during the 14th аnd 15th editiоns оf the leаgue. Studds will аlsо рrоduсe exсlusive, со-brаnded, limited-editiоn RR customised helmets, whiсh will be аvаilаble fоr рurсhаse in the mаrket.

Studds is associating with an IPL team for the first time in their history. Considering the amount of exposure IPL gives to various brands, Studds has decided to spend big chunk of their marketing budget on the associate sponsorship deal with Rajasthan Royals. While talking to exchange4media, Gaurav Bhola- GM, Sales and marketing head at Studds, confirmed the details of their budget.

“We are aiming for a fair chunk of our marketing budget to be spent here. Around 35 to 40% of our marketing budget is spent in the next two to three months.” 

“We wanted to get associated with IPL because it has become a buzz of the town lately and a lot of youngsters, especially male, are more inclined towards IPL. Our target audience coincides with the target audience of IPL. Also, helmet being the safety gear we have associated with Rajasthan Royals on their helmet whereas safety is the underlying message.”

It is the first year for the helmet manufacturer’s partnership with the IPL, in the coming years, Bhola confirmed that company plans to expand its association with the tournament. Bhola also gave an insight on plans for promotion during IPL with digital, broadcast, and print media all on the radar of helmet manufacturing brand.

Meanwhile, RR has been the only team that is yet to confirm title sponsor for IPL 2021. Sportsmint had revealed this week that announcement for new title sponsor is imminent  after source close to RR confirmed that an agreement has reached with a brand.
