With IPL 2021 just a month away, Star Sports and Disney Hotstar have released promotional videos involving Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni. The two promotional clips that are likely to be part of a series were released on Sunday.

The two first clips of this series involve Dhoni explaining the cult of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the tournament. Star Sports will likely have such 40-second clips for all captains of eight teams in the tournaments. These promotional videos will be seen on Disney Hotstar streaming platform and all broadcast channels of Star Sports.

Dhoni might have retired from international cricket, but he remains the most attractive brand in Indian Sports. Moreover, his popularity in IPL due to his long-term association and success with Chennai Super Kings make him an attractive proposition for promoting the tournament.

IPL 2021 is set to begin on April 9 with a clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. The complete tournament is going to be played across six stadiums including the newly build Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. No team will be getting home advantage this season since games will not be played in Mohali, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.

With teams starting the training camps, IPL and franchises continue to work on sponsorship deals. As previously revealed by Sportsmint, BCCI is looking to add six main sponsors for the new campaign. They made Upstox the fifth sponsor last month and remain in the hunt for a sixth deal with the likes of Unacademy, CRED, Tata Motors, Dream11 already on board from previous campaigns.

Meanwhile, franchises are also looking to fill the sponsorship slots. Rajasthan Royals was the latest team to sign a deal with helmet manufacturer Studds. Teams will be looking to complete these deals and release the jersey for the new season by the end of March.
