Among the changes that the majority of fans will notice is the logo. The erstwhile Kings XI Punjab logo that constituted of two lion heads on either side has now changed to a singular but a larger lion head in the bottom half and their new name – Punjab Kings – branded on the upper half of the insignia. PBKS CEO Satish Menon explained the reason behind the change in brand name of the team.
“Punjab Kings is a more evolved brand name, and we understand it was a right time for us to move focus on the core brand itself. The new logo honors the liveliness and vibrancy of the brand and provides modern elements, while we stand out from rest of the teams.”
Along with the team logo, the shirt will also find place for the primary sponsors. EbixCash continues to be the title sponsor for this year too, which will be emblazoned on the chest, along with Lotus Herbals on the left pocket. Dream11 and Jio will be featured on either side of the sleeves, while BKT adorns the back of the shirt above the player name. PBKS players will also be wearing golden helmets matching to the stripes on their shirt.
Punjab Kings has bagged in a number of sponsors for the upcoming season. Boat, T10 Sports, Colgate, Coca Cola, Kingfisher, Kotak, Tech Mahindra are key sponsors for PBKS in IPL 2021. The team will be donning the new look for the first time when they start the campaign against Rajasthan Royals on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
