IPL 2021 Phase 2: Three players who could be crucial for CSK

CSK is currently placed second on the points table with 10 points after Delhi Capitals.

The former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings were in great form in the first phase of the VIVO IPL 2021. They are currently placed second on the points table with 10 points after Delhi Capitals.

The franchise didn’t make any major changes to their squad for the second phase. The Chennai-based franchise will be looking forward to pushing its limits in the UAE. The three players who could be crucial for the CSK side to win the IPL 2021 are as follows:

1. Sam Curran

Sam Curran had played superbly well in the last season for CSK and had also showcased some decent figures with a strike rate of 208.00 in phase 1 of the IPL. He had scored a total of 186 runs and had picked up 13 wickets with the ball last season. If he continues to perform consistently with both ball and bat, it would be a gamechanger for the Chennai-based franchise.

2. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja who bats at number seven for the franchise will also be one of the crucial players for the team. He has been played a major role in some of the nail-biting matches in the past few seasons. Jadeja managed to contribute 131 runs for CSK at an average of 131.00 and at an amazing strike rate of 161.72 in seven matches of IPL phase 1. His all-rounder skills and fielding has always been a bonus for the side and he’ll be looking forward to dominating the UAE leg as well.

3. Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali is yet another all-rounder whose performance would be very important for CSK in phase 2. He had performed very well in phase 1, having scored 206 runs and picking up five wickets in seven games. Being one of the biggest purchases in the auction this year, the fans have a lot of expectations from him to perform well.

CSK will be seen playing their first match of phase 2 of IPL 2021 against their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on September 19 at Dubai International Stadium.
