IPL 2021 Phase 2 MI vs RCB: Preview, head-to-head, and sponsors

MI has acquired the sixth spot in the IPL standings whereas RCB has occupied the third position.

The 39th fixture of IPL 2021 will see Mumbai Indians take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium at 7:30 PM IST. 

Mumbai Indians have acquired the sixth spot in the IPL standings with eight points in nine games. They will be looking to turn their luck around and register their first win of the rescheduled IPL. MI did not start phase 2 of IPL 2021 as expected as they lost their first two matches to KKR and CSK. Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Quinton De Kock’s performances will be the deciding factor for the team if they want to earn those two points and keep themselves in contention for the playoffs. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore have also been struggling with their form lately. They failed to register a single victory in phase 2 yet, they have lost their previous two matches to CSK and KKR. RCB will be looking to notch their first win as they face an out of touch Mumbai Indians. The Virat Kohli-led Bangalore finds themselves in third place in the IPL standings with ten points in nine games. Devdutt Padikkal has been the star performer for the side so far, Kohli also scored a couple of half-centuries in this season.

Head-to-Head:

RCB and MI have faced each other on 28 occasions where Mumbai Indians has won the fixture 17 times. Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged as the winner a total of 11 times. 

The last time RCB and MI faced each other was back in April where RCB won the match by two wickets.
