IPL 2021 Phase 2 CSK vs KKR: Preview, head-to-head, and sponsors

CSK have acquired the first spot whereas KKR have occupied the fourth position in the IPL standings.

With phase 2 of IPL 2021 underway, the 38th fixture of IPL 2021 sees Chennai Super Kings face off against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi at 3:30 PM IST. 

Chennai Super Kings will be looking to continue their winning run as they won against Mumbai Indians on Sunday and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday. They will be counting on the services of Dwayne Bravo, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ambati Rayudu who were the star performers of the previous matches. CSK has acquired the number one spot in the IPL standings with 14 points in nine games. Chennai will aim to register their third victory of the second phase and retain the number one position.

Kolkata Knight Riders are also coming back from back-to-back wins against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians respectively. They will be facing a tough battle tomorrow against the table toppers. Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Shubman Gill, and Andre Russell have been highly effective so far in the tournament. Eoin Morgan will want their in-form players to perform to stay in contention for the playoffs. KKR occupied the fourth spot in the points table after repacing MI. 

Head-to-Head:

Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have faced each other on 26 occasions, the former has completely dominated the tie as CSK won 16 times and KKR emerged victorious on nine occasions.

Both teams faced each other back in April during phase 1 of the tournament as CSK won the game by 18 runs.
