IPL 2021: KKR announces deal with BKT Tires

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have confirmed a sponsorship deal with Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT Tires) for IPL 2021. With tournaments just four days away, teams are looking to confirm all sponsorship deals. As part of this deal, BKT Tires is likely to feature on KKR’s kit.

Before KKR confirmed deal with BKT, BKT was initially seen on the Punjab Kings’ jersey. The Tire manufacturing company has been proactive in terms of capitalising on the commercial appeal of IPL 2021. Going into the season BKT Tires have signed up deals with seven teams of IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team that will not be having BKT Tires as one of the key sponsors. Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT, confirmed that the brand is always looking to work in the sports industry.

“Cricket is a very popular sport in India. Everyone loves the game, and we at BKT are unstoppable when it is about sport. We are pleased and excited to be a part of an event that is much followed in our home country. We are a keen supporter of several national sports all around the globe, but it fills me with immense pleasure that we are now supporting such a significant sporting event of India.”

BKT Tires have been working in various different sports

BKT has also been working with several European football competitions. They have signed a title sponsorship deal with Serie B, second division football league in Italy. Along with this title sponsorship, BKT has also been working with Ligue 2 in France and La Liga in Spain. Considering these football leagues are keenly followed across the globe, BKT gets good visibility.

Similarly, IPL is also the most followed T-20 league across the globe. Some of the best players in the world participate in this competition. By partnering with seven teams, BKT has managed to get maximum exposure during IPL 2021. Apart from BKT Tires, PhonePe has also signed sponsorship deals with four IPL teams. Sportsmint can also reveal that MX Takatak is also partnering with seven IPL teams this season.
