IPL 2021: Jason Holder finishes the mandatory quarantine period

Barbadian cricketer Jason Holder is finally out from his obligatory quarantine period. He is ready for IPL 2021 and will be available for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Holder arrived in Chennai to join SRH camp on April 5 and was quarantined as per the SOP issued by the BCCI.

“I am looking forward to the challenge here and it’s a really big season ahead for us,” the former No. 1 ranked all-rounder in the world said on a video posted by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“Looking forward to train and acclimatize to the conditions… It’s a bit warmer in India so need to get accustomed to that and hit the ground running,” he added.

The former captain of West Indies Cricket team believes that SRH has what it takes to go the distance. His availability will come as a huge relief for the SRH, since Sunrisers Hyderabad was defeated by 10 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the third match of IPL 2021 season.

Previously Holder delivered the team crucial support either through his batting, bowling, fielding or by his experience.

Here’s a look at 6’6″ tall Holder performance in 2020 –

3/33 vs Rajasthan Royals

2/27, 5 vs Kings XI Punjab

1/46 vs Delhi Capitals

2/27, 26* vs RCB (finished the run-chase)

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is set to play against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 14th April, Wednesday. The team will have a great relief and support after their all-rounder Jason Holder’s comeback. Holder was roped in for Rs 75 lakh by SRH during the last IPL mid-season after Mitchell Marsh provided an injury.

Nevertheless, Holder is unlikely to play in the upcoming fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. He will have to grind for match fitness in the net and will be available for upcoming matches soon.
