IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals signs new Nutrition partner

Delhi Capitals continues to sign sponsorship deals ahead of the start of IPL 2021. On Thursday,  Delhi announced a sponsorship deal with Optimum Nutrition. The Nutrition product manufacturer will become the official nutrition partner of Delhi Capitals during IPL 2021.

As part of this deal, Delhi Capitals will be promoting numerous products manufactured by Optimum Nutrition. The IPL franchise will also use products produced by Optimum Nutrition for the players to keep themselves fit during the long challenging tournament in the next two months.

Vinod Bisht, Director and CEO of Delhi Capitals, said, “Our players have always been our topmost priority and we are continuously putting in efforts to ensure that they are fit and healthy on and off the field. We are very delighted to welcome Optimum Nutrition as the Official Nutrition partner for Delhi Capital for IPL 2021 as their products will help our team achieve their nutrition goals. We look forward to a fruitful partnership.” 

Delhi Capitals recently announced a similar sponsorship deal with Evolut Fitness. The Delhi-based franchise also extended deal with JSW as principal sponsor, while Cornitos was signed as the official snacking partner of DC.

Ever since the rebranding of Delhi Capitals, they have been proactive on and off the pitch. They still have a long way to go in terms of becoming the commercial powerhouse in IPL. However, they do have a solid business framework to achieve this target. Delhi witnessed only a 1% decrease in brand value after IPL 2020 from the previous season. This was the lowest dip for any IPL team as all franchises faced the brunt of the pandemic. Even though they are sixth in the brand value list, the growth has been consistent for them.

Sam Billings eyeing success with Delhi Capitals

Meanwhile, Delhi’s squad is working hard in Mumbai ahead of the first game of the season. The team’s new recruit Sam Billings admitted on Friday that his game has significantly improved since his last stint with DC four years ago. Billings is looking forward to winning the trophy with the exciting DC squad.

DC will be beginning the season against Chennai Super Kings on April 10 in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This game will also mark a full-time captaincy debut for Rishabh Pant. He was named captain for the season this week due to a season-ending injury to Shreyas Iyer.
