The unique Commercial District – GMR Aerocity, situated close to the Terminal 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has reportedly joined Delhi Capitals as their new associate sponsors for IPL 2021.

This development occurs a day after Delhi clinched a comfortable win over multiple-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings. With the partnership underway, GMR Aerocity will be associating with the sporting organization for the first time ever. While it is yet not disclosed what the terms of the partnership are, the two parties are all set to work at full pace.

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Aman Kapoor, GMR Airport Land Development (ALD) CEO, mentioned how the modernistic commercial district matches the same vibrancy as the GMR and JSW owned franchise. He said, “Much like the high-energy experiences Delhi Capitals has been entertaining its audiences with, GMR Aerocity stands for the same vibrancy for its visitors and stakeholders seeking richer, innovative and diverse experiences,” he says.

With a futuristic infrastructure, the GMR Aerocity is one of a kind in India. The smart city is a destination for the top global business brands that consists some of the best mixes of cuisines, shopping, retail experiences, along with premium office spaces, hospitality hubs, and an urban environment with safe, open spaces, modern amenities, and multi-nodal connectivity, making it a unique Business District in the whole country. GMR Holdings do have a big stake in the ownership of DC, so it is not a surprise that one of their key businesses is sponsoring the team.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals CEO Vinod Bisht expressed his excitement to announce the highly famed GMR Aerocity as their associate sponsor. Speaking of the modern aspects of the Commercial Hub, Bisht says that “It is a true embodiment of our slogan ‘Yeh Hai Nayi Dilli’”, as he feels it to be a fitting introduction for anyone who visits the city.

Apart from Delhi’s Aerocity, the DC owners have also created the Hyderabad Airport City with similar features to its Delhi counterpart. Delhi Capitals is currently placed on the top of the table due to their magnificent run rate against CSK. Delhi Capitals will face Rajasthan Royals for their second game on Thursday.
