IPL 2021: CRED launches quirky commercial with Rahul Dravid

CRED, a high-trust community of creditworthy individuals and institutions, has launched another exciting advertisement video campaign in continuation with their official sponsorship with the IPL 2021, titled- CRED:  Great for the Good. This is the second year for the brand to be associated with IPL.

Following the viral success of last year’s ad campaign, this year, CRED will launch a total of six ad films over the course of the tournament. The organisation recently posted a commercial, on their youtube channel, which features actor and CRED-favourite Jim Sarbh and the legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid in a never-seen-before avatar, and well the only thing that can be said is that it’s totally Unexpected.

The film features Jim Sarbh, who in the first part of the video engages with the audience talking about the benefits of being a member of  CRED. He says “When you pay your credit bills on CRED you earn cred coins, Use them to claim cashback and rewards’

But this is where it gets interesting, the following lines go: “I know this sounds ridiculous, it’s like saying Rahul Dravid has anger issues’’.

And in the very next scene, we witness Rahul Dravid in an expression that we thought did not exist in his dictionary: Anger. That’s right. The second half of the feature follows Rahul, and we witness him losing his cool while stuck in traffic. From egging someone for a fight to spilling liquid on a car’s window to yelling “Indira Nagar ka gunda hoon main”.

The films have been created, produced, and directed by the ingenious minds at Early Man Film The campaign was written and conceptualised by Tanmay Bhat, Devaiah Bopanna, Puneet Chadha, Nupur Pai, and Vishal Dayama and executed by DDB Mudra and 22Feet Tribal Worldwide. To set the tone of the campaign right, Karan Malhotra lent his expertise to compose the music for the films.

Kickstarting the ad campaign with this year’s IPL Season, Kunal Shah, Founder, and CEO, CRED, said “We are happy to continue our association with the IPL for the second year in a row. At CRED, we believe in rewarding good financial behaviour. With this campaign, we want to instill our message of the importance of financial literacy and educating viewers on the rewarding benefits of practising responsible financial behaviour.

CRED aims at making the IPL season even more rewarding for its members. The payments application wants to celebrate and reward credit-worthy individuals. Admission to CRED is based on credit score for individuals, and a fee for brands and institutions.
