IPL 2021: Ben Stokes ruled out for three months

England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes will be out of action for at least a period of three months after the scans revealed a fracture on his left Index finger. This severity of the injury was revealed after a repeat X-ray and CT scan.

While attempting a catching against Punjab Kings on Monday, Ben Stokes injured his finger. Earlier this week, Rajasthan Royals announced that Stokes will no longer be a part of the squad but will stay with them for supporting the guys. He was a key part of the Rajasthan squad, but now the Royals have to work their way out in IPL 2021 without him. Royals are already without Jofra Archer due to hand injury, but the English bowler received the green light to train this week. It remains to be seen whether Royals will bring in a replacement for Stokes.

This is a huge loss for both the England cricket team and Rajasthan Royal. Stokes is one of the most in-form players in the world right now. Along with IPL 2021, Stokes is also expected to be out of New Zealand tour of England, Sri Lanka tour of England, and Pakistan tour of England.

The good news for the English fans is that the extent of the injury is not that severe and only the index finger was fractured. Stokes can start his rehabilitation soon after his surgery and can start light training after 45-50 days.

ECB will be hoping that Stokes fully recovers from the injury for the five-match test series against India in August. The English team will be looking forward to avenging the disastrous tour England had in India earlier this year. Stokes will leave India on Saturday and is expected to get the surgery done on Monday in Leeds.
