IPL 2020: RR looking to get back to winning ways against MI

After suffering two consecutive defeats, Rajasthan Royals will be looking to get the season back on track against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.

As we enter match-day 20 of the Indian Premier League, the table is slowly getting sorted based on the consistency of teams. Mumbai Indians (MI) have won two consecutive games convincingly to show that they mean business, while Rajasthan Royals (RR) have lost their way in the last two games. The two teams will be coming up against each other at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Dubai on October 6.

Mumbai Indians had started poorly against Chennai Super Kings and suffered a defeat in super over. However, in the last two games against Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Meanwhile, after a promising start to the campaign, Rajasthan Royals suffered defeats against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Sanju Samson and Jos Butler remain the key batsmen for RR. The duo is yet to click together in the same match this season, but even one of them can singlehandedly change the course of the game. Samson has been on fire this year despite having two low scoring games last week. RR will be hoping that this duo, along with Steve Smith, helps them in chasing or setting up a big target.

Meanwhile, MI is seeing all batsmen chipping in with runs. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are dynamic pair at the top, while Kieran Pollard and Pandya brothers provide perfect finishing touches to the game. The batting lineup is also bolstered with the good form of Ishan Kisan.

In the bowling department, RR has been struggling apart from Jofra Archer. The England international has been bowling economical spell at the start and death of the innings. Other bowlers also need to complement him to stop MI.

On the other hand, MI looks look settled with the bowling unit. Jasprit Bumrah is yet to get back to his best, but he still comes up with clutch moments. James Pattinson and Trent Boult have also been formidable with the ball.

MI are clear favourites for Tuesday’s game based on their current form, but on their day, RR can bat teams out of the game. It is a clash of heavyweights that are strong contenders for winning the trophy this season.
