IPL 2020: RCB and RR lock horns for third win in tournament

As we move into the first double header of IPL 2020, the first battle is between two of the best players of this era, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Abu Dhabi on October 3. While both the teams have endured a mixed start to the season, this win can temporarily propel them to the top of the table.

RCB started off their campaign with a convincing win over SRH but suffered a big defeat against Kings XI Punjab. They bounced back from this setback with a super over win against Mumbai Indians earlier this week

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals started the campaign on a strong note with two big wins against Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab in Sharjah before losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the third game.

RCB comes into the game against RR with some glowing positives, such as the good form of Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal, and AB De Villiers However, the bowling in death and fielding still remains a matter of concern. Virat Kohli is yet to kick on this tournament, but it will be a matter of time before he gets a big score. RCB is likely to play the same team that featured in the win against Mumbai Indians.

RR came with a surprise package into the tournament, scoring 200 plus in their opening encounter against CSK, and then chasing the highest target in the history of IPL against KXIP. Steve Smith, Samson, Archer, Rahul Tewatia are some of the standout performers, although a lot is expected from Jos Butler who is known for his quick runs. RR needs to improve bowling in death to keep up the good form.

Both teams have a great mixture of youth and power, so it will be an interesting encounter. There is likely to be firework from batsmen as bowling is not exactly the strength of both teams.
