IPL 2020: CSK desperate for victory against SRH

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host Match 14th of Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.

For the first time in history, CSK is placed in the eighth position in the IPL points table. The team will be back in action after a week-long break. While CSK kicked off their IPL 2020 campaign with a win over Mumbai Indians in the season opener, they timidly lost the next two games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals.

Ambati Rayudu’s much-awaited comeback will be a welcome boost for the under-pressure batting lineup at CSK. The hero of CSK’s opening IPL 2020 victory against Mumbai Indians, missed out last two games due to a mild hamstring injury. Dwayne Bravo also missed three games due to a minor injury that he suffered in Caribbean Premier League. The team management confirmed that Bravo and Rayudu are fit, and available for selection.

Rayudu’s presence could well mean that he will replace an out-of-form Murali Vijay at the top alongside Shane Watson. However, the same cannot be said about Bravo as it will then force MS Dhoni to tinker with the whole line-up. In order to accommodate Bravo, Dhoni will either have to drop Watson or seamer Josh Hazelwood, both of which look non-negotiable at the moment.

Meanwhile, SRH also did not enjoy a solid start to their season as they lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. They halted the two-match losing streak by beating Delhi Capitals in their third game of the tournament.

The presence of Kane Williamson improved a fragile middle order against Delhi Capitals. Both Jonny Bairstow and David Warner also got their share of runs.

The bowling line-up is pretty even for both teams. As both the teams seek their second win of the season, the CSK-SRH clash promises to be a mouth-watering affair on Saturday.
