Infront Sports & Media has been appointed worldwide lead agency for marketing rights by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), in an eight-year agreement covering World Table Tennis (WTT) and running through 2034.
Under the partnership, Infront will lead the global commercial development and partnership sales for the WTT Series, which includes the WTT Finals, Grand Smashes, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contender and WTT Contender events. The ITTF World Championships will also form part of the portfolio once existing commercial commitments expire.
Infront will work with ITTF and WTT to define the commercial strategy for the portfolio, including its go-to-market approach, target categories and partnership packages. The agency will also lead global partnership sales, with a particular focus on securing global partners across the WTT Series and presenting partners for individual events.
The agreement is designed to build on table tennis’ established commercial strength in Asia while expanding its reach across international markets. It also brings WTT’s event portfolio and the ITTF World Championships into a more coordinated commercial proposition for brands.
Petra Sörling, ITTF President, WTT Chair and IOC member, said, “Infront has extensive experience in building international sports partnerships and a global sales network that can help us take the next step in the commercial development of table tennis. This partnership gives us a coordinated approach across the ITTF World Championships and the WTT Series and the ability to present brands with opportunities spanning our biggest events, markets and audiences. We look forward to working together to build long-term partnerships that support the continued growth of the sport worldwide.”
Philippe Blatter, Infront President & CEO, Infront added, “Table tennis has an extraordinary global following and significant potential for further growth. Together with WTT, we want to unlock the full potential of the sport, expanding its global reach, inspiring new generations of fans and creating even greater value for brands and partners. With its strong foundations in Asia and growing international momentum, we believe table tennis has an exciting future, and we are committed to helping shape that next chapter.”
The appointment comes as ITTF and WTT continue to develop the sport’s international commercial platform. Earlier this year, ITTF strengthened its oversight of WTT, with President Sörling taking over as Chair of the WTT Board. The partnership also comes ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, where table tennis will feature a record six medal events following the addition of the Mixed Team event.
For Infront, the mandate adds table tennis to its international sports marketing portfolio and gives the agency responsibility for developing commercial opportunities across one of the sport’s most extensive global event calendars.
