Indian cricket team will travel to Australia in chartered flight

Indian test cricketers currently taking part in the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) are likely to travel to Australia directly from Dubai. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly working on logistics to arrange a chartered file that will fly out the Indian team to Adelaide from Dubai. The team is supposed to fly either on November 12 or 13, two days after the IPL 2020 final.

As per sources, all the support staff and players who are already not in the UAE for the IPL will be asked to reach Dubai by end of October. BCCI will create a separate bio bubble for these players and members of the support staff that are not involved in IPL 2020. The main idea behind this step is to ensure that the quarantine period for the Indian team is not that long in Australia. However, the base of the Indian team in Australia is yet to be decided.

A BCCI spokesperson said, “We had a word with Cricket Australia officials to finalize the tour schedule. Obviously, we have to finalize our plans accordingly. At this stage, we are not aware where exactly the team will land and for how long they have to quarantine.”

CA is yet to officially announce the schedule and venues for the tour. It is being reported in Australian media that permissions from all the states zeroed down to host the matches are yet to be given green signal to the matches by the local authorities.

However, CA is planning to have four different venues for the Test series and all the venues will allow fans into the stadiums in a certain capacity while functioning under the Covid-19 norms.
