India vs West Indies 3rd ODI: Match preview and head-to-head

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, the Men in Blue has the upper hand.

In the West Indies tour of India, the third ODI of the three-match series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, February 11 at 1:30 PM IST. The hosts have sealed the ODI bilateral series 2-0.

The Indian team will be heading into this fixture on the back of a scintillating victory against the West Indies in the second ODI on Wednesday. Rohit Sharma has registered his first ODI bilateral series victory as a full-time captain. The home team will look forward to whitewashing the Windies by clinching the third ODI. There was an experiment in the second ODI as Rishabh Pant replaced Ishan Kishan at the opening slot with KL Rahul batting at the number four position. Vital contributions from the middle-order batsmen after losing three early wickets and a disciplined bowling unit will boost the Indian team’s belief.

On the other hand, the disheartened Windies will enter this fixture after a dismal batting performance in the first two ODIs. The West Indies bowlers have been doing a good job and aren’t letting the Indians score runs easily. With the inclusion of the regular captain, Kieron Pollard, the Windies may make some changes in their playing XI for the final ODI. The tourists will aim to finish the ODI series on a good note after registering their first victory in the ongoing series.

Head-to-Head:

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, the Men in Blue has the upper hand. The two teams played 135 matches so far out of which the Indians won 66 fixtures while the Windies emerged victorious on 63 occasions.
