In the India tour of West Indies 2022, the second ODI of the three-match series will be conducted on Sunday, July 24 at the Port of Spain in Trinidad at 7 PM IST. The tourists currently lead the series 1-0.
The Shikhar Dhawan-led team avoided a defeat by the barest of margins in the first ODI while defending a competitive total. Heading into the second game, India will be full of confidence following a match-winning performance. The skipper Dhawan led from the front and helped India to register a comprehensive total along with vital contributions from Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. The biggest plus point would be the inexperienced bowling unit, who held its nerve in a close encounter that went till the last ball. The visitors would look to clinch the series by winning the upcoming fixture, which won’t be an easy task considering the fightback displayed by the Windies in the first game.
On the other hand, the hosts will also head into this fixture with their heads up high following a terrific outing with the bat. The dismissals of Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell didn’t do much damage as Akeal Hossein and Romario Shepherd, who came out to bat at number seven and eight respectively almost snatched the victory from the Men in Blue. The upcoming game will be a do-or-die fixture, Pooran and his men won’t shy away from trying something new to stay alive in the series.

India have an advantage in the head-to-head competition between the two teams. Both sides faced each other on 137 instances, the tourists won 68 games while the hosts emerged victorious on 63 occasions.
