In the Sri Lanka tour of India 2023, the second T20I will take place on Thursday, January 5 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune at 7 PM IST.
The Hardik Pandya-led Indian team has acquired a comprehensive lead after sealing the first T20I in a last-ball thriller. The likes of Shivam Mavi, Umran Malik, Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel stood up on the occasion and helped India to get over the line. The Men in Blue will expect a valuable contribution from the top-order in the upcoming two matches. The Indian camp will look forward to bagging the T20I series by winning the second match and commencing 2023 on a positive note.
On the other hand, the visitors won’t be disappointed with their performance. Sri Lanka fought back in both innings. After getting hammered in the first over itself, the Lankan bowlers bounced back, pocketed wickets along with controlling the run rate in the middle overs. In the second inning itself, even after the fall of early wickets, Dasun Shanaka, Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga didn’t give up, fought till the end and made the Indians work much harder for their victory.
