India vs New Zealand 2nd Test: Match Preview, head-to-head and sponsors

The bilateral series is currently levelled at 1-1.

The second Test match between India and New Zealand will be played on Friday, December 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 9:30 AM IST. After a nail-biting draw in the first Test, it will be intriguing to witness, which way does the last match of the bilateral series goes.

In the absence of their star players, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul, the Indian team performed well in all the departments. The debutant Shreyas Iyer shone in both the innings with the bat, due to which it has become difficult for the selectors to bench him in the second Test to make way for Kohli. The return of their regular captain will surely give an edge to the host over the visitors.

On the other end, the Kiwis will be entering into this fixture with confidence after escaping a defeat narrowly in the first match. The brilliance of Rachin Ravindra with the defence helped the Kiwis stay alive in the series after the first game. The World Test Champions will aim for victory despite the alien batting conditions and register their first win on Indian soil in 33 years. The Blackcaps would count on their in-form opener Tom Latham to perform well in Mumbai as well.

Head-to-head:

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, India has the upper hand as they beat the tourists on 21 occasions, while they ended up on the losing side 13 times. A total of 27 games have ended in a draw.
