The Men in Blue have dominated the series, demonstrating both their batting depth and bowling versatility. In the second T20I, India defeated England by two wickets with Tilak Varma‘s match-winning performance of 72. In the series, the likes of Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson have been showing top form, while Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel have performed well on slower tracks. India may experiment slightly, but it will still strive to preserve its winning streak.
On the other hand, England have failed to establish consistency, with its batting lineup unable to capitalise on promising beginnings. Captain Jos Buttler has been a lone warrior so far, and other batters such as Philip Salt, Ben Duckett, and Harry Brook must step up to help their team regain momentum in the series. Jofra Archer has leaked runs but England will again back him to do well on the Rajkot track. Notably, England’s lack of penetration in the middle overs has been a source of concern and will aim to fix this.
Head-to-Head:
Both countries have encountered each other in 26 T20Is, with India winning 15 times compared to England’s 11 wins.
