India vs England 2025 3rd T20I: England bowlers stifle Chakravarthy’s heroic effort to clinch a top win

With this result, England have stormed back into the series and are now 1-2 down, with two games to go.

In a one-sided affair, England disciplined India by 26 runs in the third T20I at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

India won the toss and asked England to bat first. The decision looked solid after the first innings as England got wrapped up for just 171 in their 20 overs, which at one point looked like it would reach 200 as well. With Ben Duckett (51) scoring a magnificent half-century at the start, the visitors were hopeful of reaching a solid total. Jos Buttler (24) also got a good start but was unable to build on it. It was Liam Livingstone (43), who played at a strike rate of 179.17 and hit five super sixes to take the side to a decent total.

In the chase, Abhishek Sharma (24), Suryakumar Yadav (14), and Tilak Varma (18) got a good start but failed to bat longer. It was also a difficult evening for Hardik Pandya (40), as he couldn’t time any balls; however, he batted till the end and tried his best.

For England with the ball, Jamie Overton scalped three wickets, while two wickets each were grabbed by Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse. Mark Wood and Adil Rashid also took one wicket each.

For India, Varun Chakaravarthy once again showcased his top form as he plucked a fifer. Two wickets were taken by Pandya, while one each was plucked by Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel

With this result, England have stormed back into the series and are now 1-2 down, with two games to go.

Scorecard:

England: 171/9, Overs 20, Ben Duckett 51, Varun Chakaravarthy 5/24
