India vs Australia 2nd ODI: Starc, Marsh shine in Australia’s 10-wicket win

Following this win, the visitors have levelled the ODI series with one match to go.

In the second ODI match of the Australia tour of India 2023, Australia defeated India by 10 wickets at the Dr Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. While it was looking like a good batting pitch, the Rohit Sharma-led side had a horrible outing as the team got all out for just 117 runs. Mitchell Starc and Sean Abbott were brutal with the ball and gave no edge of comfort for the home side.

The pitch looked completely different when the Aussies came to bat in the second innings. Both the openers, Mitchell Marsh (66) and Travis Head (51), were enough to chase down the score. While Head played with a strike rate of 170, Marsh was even more attractive with a strike rate of 183.33. The duo got to the winning mark in just 11 overs.

For team India, only Virat Kohli (31) and Axar Patel (29*) looked good with the bat. No one else stood up to the occasion which must have tampered fans’ enjoyment who went to the stadium.

Mitchell Starc was the key man for the five-time World Cup winners as he managed to grab a fifer on such a batting track. Three wickets were also taken by Sean Abbott while two wickets were picked by Nathan Ellis.

In the second innings with the ball, none of the bowlers got spared as almost everyone leaked massive runs. Five bowlers were tried in the span of 11 overs but none could do trick.

Starc was awarded with the Man of the Match for his fierce bowling act. Following this win, the visitors have levelled the ODI series with one match to go.

Scorecard:

India: 117/10, Overs 26, Virat Kohli 31, Mitchell Starc 5/53

Australia: 121/0, Overs 11, Mitchell Marsh 66*
