India vs Australia 2022 2nd T20I: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

India have the advantage in the head-to-head competition between the two teams.

In the Australia tour of India 2022, the second T20I of the three-match series will take place on Friday, September 23 at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur at 7:00 PM IST. Australia currently lead the series 1-0.

The Friday fixture is a do-or-die match for India after getting thrashed in the first T20I of the series. The game commenced on a higher note for the hosts with KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya treating the Australian bowlers outside the boundary line. Things started going downhill in the second inning when the bowlers couldn’t sustain the flow of runs. The biggest concern for India ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has been the bowling unit which has yet again failed to defend a competitive total. With Jasprit Bumrah likely to return to the playing XI in the next game may make things better for the Men in Blue.

On the other end, the Australian team without their regular T20 players still managed to outdo the hosts and registered a thumping victory. The Aussie bowlers also witnessed the same fate as the Indian bowling unit, as the former were also taken for cleaners. Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green received severe beatings by the Indian batters. The batting unit played it smart, took calculated risks and attacked at regular intervals to keep the required rate under control. The world champions will look to clinch the series and set up momentum ahead of the title defence in October.

Head-to-head:
India have the advantage in the head-to-head competition between the two teams. Both sides squared off on 24 occasions, India won 13 fixtures while the Aussies emerged victorious on 10 instances.
