India tour of Sri Lanka 2024 2nd ODI: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

Both teams were involved in 169 ODIs, with India winning 99 and Sri Lanka winning 57.

In the second ODI match of the three-match series, India will play Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo tomorrow, i.e., August 4 at 2:30 PM IST.

After an exciting first ODI, it’s all about figuring out how to deal with the sluggish pitch on Sunday. Team India looked quite comfortable with the new ball, with Rohit Sharma leading the way. Overall, India were 130/3 before Sri Lanka’s spinners worked their magic. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel all had solid performances, but none were able to lead India to victory. This time however, the top order would want to assume more responsibility and assist the middle-order batters in accomplishing the target. With the ball, India went with three spinners, who would most likely keep their spots. Under Gautam Gambhir‘s management, the XI might be expected to change.

It was an impressive performance by the home side with the ball as the likes of Charith Asalanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dunith Wellalage picked up eight wickets together. The pacers with the new ball will aim to be more effective, while the batters will also try to maximise their chances. Pathum Nissanka was excellent with the bat, as he stood tall and batted throughout the powerplay to score a brilliant half-century. Others, which include Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, and Samarawickrama, need to step up and deliver too.

Head-to-Head:

Both teams were involved in 169 ODIs, with India winning 99 and Sri Lanka winning 57. 11 matches ended without a result, while two were tied.
