In the second semi-final game of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, India will play Australia tomorrow, October 30, at 3 PM IST, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Australia enter as the undefeated table toppers, while India, boosted by home support, won a semi-final spot with a key victory against New Zealand.

Following an incredible run of six triumphs in the group stage, with their other match called off due to inclement weather, the seven-time champions appear to be in imperious form, and few can see a way to prevent the Baggy Greens from winning an eighth championship.
Australia had a few stressful moments in the opening stage, most notably when Pakistan knocked them to 76 for seven before recovering to win easily by 107 runs. India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, challenged Australia with a 330-run target, but the reigning champions knocked it down with three wickets in hand and one over remaining. Australia are eagerly expecting the return of skipper Alyssa Healy, who has missed the previous two league games due to a calf injury after scoring 294 runs, including two hundreds in four innings. Australia made a convincing performance in their most recent victory over South Africa, with King leading the way with seven for eighteen, the highest bowling stats in World Cup history.

India’s group stage performance was far from simple, with three successive defeats before securing a semi-final berth. Star opener Smriti Mandhana has been the tournament’s leading run scorer, with 365 runs, including a century in seven innings. However, the hosts suffered a blow when the in-form Pratika Rawal was injured in their previous league game, allowing Shafali Verma to rejoin to the team for the semi-final. India have finished runners-up twice, in 2005 and 2017, with the latter being a dramatic semi-final victory against Australia before losing to England in the final. Since the setback to India, Australia have been invincible, winning an unprecedented 15 straight ODI World Cups.
