In their fourth fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, India will take on Bangladesh on Wednesday, November 2 at Adelaide Oval at 1:30 PM IST.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team came across a speed bump when they squared off with South Africa on Sunday. The defeat might have made them rethink a few of their aspects before they walk onto the field on Wednesday to play against Bangladesh. The pacers continue to impress, Arshdeep Singh has been consistently taking wickets in the powerplay, Mohammad Shami has been breaking partnerships in middle overs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s swinging deliveries have made multiple quality batters struggle in the competition so far. The top three batters succumbed to the quick bowlers in the powerplay in the previous game, which might be an area of concern. The hopes of Indian fans will be rested yet again on Suryakumar Yadav‘s shoulders, who treated the quality Protea bowling line-up out of the boundary rope while the rest of the batters struggled miserably. The Indian camp will aim for a victory tomorrow to regain the top spot on the table in its respective group.
On the other hand, Bangladesh are replicating the outing of their Wednesday opponent. The Shakib Al Hasan-led team also won two games and lost once just like India but an inferior net run rate keeps them below the Men in Blue on the table. In addition, just like the Indian team, Bangladesh will also walk into this fixture on the back of a loss against South Africa. On Sunday, the Tigers escaped a narrow defeat against Zimbabwe while defending a competitive total of 150. To stay in contention of finishing in the top two, the neighbours will put their best foot ahead against the star-studded Indian team.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams in the shortest format, India are much superior. Both sides collided on 11 occasions, the Men in Blue won 10 games while Bangladesh registered victory just once.
In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the Indians have won all their three games against Bangladesh so far.
