Herbalife Nutrition becomes official nutritional partner of Indian contingent for CWG 2022

The deal was made official by Shri Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, IOA, during the athlete send-off ceremony.

The global nutrition brand, Herbalife Nutrition has been associated with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as the official nutrition partner of the Indian contingent for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022. The CWG games will be held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8.

The deal was made official by Shri Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, IOA, during the athlete send-off ceremony by the IOA held in New Delhi, India. Anurag Thakur, Minister of I&B and Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India was the chief guest, boosted the confidence, and wished the team luck.

Approximately 40 athletes from the delegation were present at the occasion, along with the senior IOA delegates and Mr Ajay Khanna, the Senior Vice President and Country Head of Herbalife Nutrition India.

Ajay Khanna expressed his views on the partnership and said, “We are delighted to be the official nutrition partner of Team India for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Our focus is to provide high-quality, science-backed food products to support athletes to achieve their highest level of sports performance. With our proven track record of working with athletes in India and around the world, we look forward to bringing our knowledge and expertise in sports nutrition to the team and supporting them in giving their best performance. We wish Team India good luck and believe that they will make the nation proud.”

The Indian Table Tennis player and a Herbalife-sponsored athlete Manika Batra said, “I am thrilled to be participating at the Commonwealth Games 2022 and look forward to giving my best performance. Missing out on a  medal at the Tokyo Olympics has motivated me even further to perform to the best of my abilities. Additionally, having the Herbalife Nutrition sports nutrition products have also helped me to improve my performance and recover faster through my intense workouts.”

The 22nd edition of CWG is iconic as women’s cricket has been included for the first time in history. The Indian contingent consists of 215 athletes from 10 various sports, namely athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, hockey, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, para-sports, and many more.
