Haier India capitalises on Wimbledon 2024 hype with a Disney+ Hotstar alliance

Haier India intends to use Disney+ Hotstar's digital platform to interact with specific audiences and tennis aficionados across India.

The renowned home appliances entity, Haier India has partnered with Disney+ Hotstar, the country’s leading streaming service, as the associate sponsor of the ongoing Wimbledon 2024.

This cooperation represents a substantial expansion of Haier India’s sports marketing strategy, with the goal of increasing brand awareness and consumer interaction in the premium market sector.

As part of this partnership, Haier India intends to use Disney+ Hotstar’s digital platform to interact with specific audiences and tennis aficionados across India. Until July 14, 2024, the brand plans to enhance its presence during matches via linked TV.

NS Satish, president of Haier Appliances India, said, “In 2024, we have successfully forged meaningful associations with prestigious sports tournaments to resonate with youth, niche, and premium consumers in India. Our latest collaboration with the Wimbledon Championships as an associate sponsor on Disney+ Hotstar holds special significance as we target tennis enthusiasts in India.”

Haier India has been aggressively investing in a number of sporting events, like as the ATP Tour and Roland-Garros, as part of its Sport-o-Tainment marketing strategy. Through these efforts, the brand hopes to deepen its relationship with the nation’s premium audiences and fortify its bond with millions of sports fans.

The tournament at the All England Club in London is nearing completion, with only a few matches remaining. The quarter-finals of the grass-court grand slam brought spectacular tennis matches.

The first men’s semi-final in the men’s event will feature defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in a blockbuster duel, a repeat of last year where the Spaniard prevailed in an effortless straight sets. In the second semi-final, Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti will face seven-time Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.

In the women’s singles semi-finals, Wimbledon 2022 winner Rybakina will face Olympic women’s doubles champion Barbora Krejcikova. Donna Vekic and Jasmine Paolini will compete in the other semi-finals, guaranteeing a fresh face in the final.
