Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has solidified its long-standing commitment to motorsport by extending its title partnership of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix for another three years, through 2027.
This extension has cemented Gulf Air’s position as the longest-standing title partner in F1 history, a distinction it has held since the race’s inception in Bahrain 21 years ago.
The renewed agreement underscores the successful partnership between Gulf Air and the Bahrain International Circuit. The inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix, held on April 4, 2004, was a landmark event, marking the first F1 race in the Middle East.
The FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX will continue to carry the airline’s name, further associating it with top-tier global sporting events. The 2025 Grand Prix is scheduled for April 11-13, with pre-season testing taking place at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 26.
Commenting on the occasion, Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer, Formula 1, said, “Gulf Air’s enduring commitment to the Bahrain Grand Prix is a testament to the power of long-term partnerships in motorsport.
“Their support, spanning over two decades, has been instrumental in establishing this race as a favourite in the Formula 1 calendar, which attracts fans from all over the world to a weekend of great racing and top entertainment. We are thrilled to continue this collaboration and look forward to more thrilling racing and shared success in Bahrain.”
Jeffrey Goh, Gulf Air Group Chief Executive Officer, added, “We are immensely proud to extend our partnership with Formula 1, a relationship that has become synonymous with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
“This collaboration not only reinforces Bahrain’s prominent position on the international motorsport stage but also serves as a powerful catalyst for economic growth, tourism development, and global brand recognition for the Kingdom.”
This extension builds upon the Bahrain Grand Prix’s impressive legacy, reinforcing its standing as a premier Formula 1 event. The ongoing collaboration between Gulf Air and the Bahrain International Circuit highlights their shared dedication to innovation, excellence, and the global appeal of motorsport.
In addition to the Bahrain Grand Prix, F1 recently announced contract extensions for several other races, including the Singapore Grand Prix, the Belgian Grand Prix, the Italian Grand Prix, and the Monaco Grand Prix.
