The new Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit, Gujarat Titans have got Aditya Datta onboard ahead of the upcoming edition. Through this appointment, Datta became the commercial and marketing director of the team.
The Gujarat-based team is owned by CVC Capital Partners, who bought it for an astounding Rs 5625 crore. With this decision, the new IPL franchise will aim to elevate its commercial game in the sports industry.
Aditya Datta has vast expertise in several fields such as sports marketing, licensing, merchandise, commercial and financial planning and key account management. He has attained such experience through his past responsible roles. He is the founder of Impetus Sports and also served the Indian Super League (ISL) team, FC Goa as their chief operating officer and commercial director. In addition to this, he has also teamed up with the Premier League club, Everton FC, IPL and ICC Cricket World Cup.
Recently, the team also appointed Ather Energy as its principal sponsor. To further enhance its brand recognition, the team launched its official logo on Spatial.io’s metaverse.
Other than this, Gujarat Titans also performed well in the mega auction as they bagged some skilful players. The team selected three players from the draft ahead of the auction – Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill. The three draft picks were joined by Lockie Ferguson, Jason Roy, Dominic Drakes, Mohammad Shami and many more after the auction.
