The Global Chess League (GCL), a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and FIDE, has developed a partnership with with Google Cloud, a suite of cloud computing services.
The agreement will bring fans closer to the action than ever before, with real-time player performance information throughout Season 3, which runs from December 13 to 24 in India.
GCL, one of the world’s most technologically advanced sports leagues, is ushering chess into a new era by combining its rich history and strategic genius with cutting-edge innovation and fan-first experiences.
GCL is gearing up for its most ambitious season, owing to Google Cloud’s superior infrastructure and Tech Mahindra’s ambition of combining technology and sports. GCL continues to change the way chess is played, perceived, and experienced throughout the world. It is the globe’s first franchise-based chess league, with men, women, and prodigies competing in an open, mixed-team style.
Tech Mahindra, the league’s title sponsor and innovation partner, is driving the league’s technological revolution with the support of Google Cloud. As per the deal, Tech Mahindra will supply the league with AI and ML dashboards powered by Google Cloud technology to provide real-time insights into player performance during matches. Furthermore, Google Cloud Analytics will improve the league’s smart broadcasting.
