Girona FC, the LALIGA club, have announced a new regional partnership with the leading betting company, Sekabet.
The deal has marked a significant step forward for the club as it prepares for its historic UEFA Champions League debut.
Financial terms of the partnership have not been disclosed, but the agreement is expected to provide Girona with substantial financial backing to invest in player development, infrastructure, and other strategic areas. In return, Sekabet will gain significant brand visibility through its association with the high-flying LALIGA club.
Girona’s President, Delfí Geli, has declared that “it is a pleasure for us to welcome Sekabet. These agreements show the great global growth that the Club is experiencing”.
Andreas Zimmerman, Sekabet’s CEO, said that “Together, we embark on this journey with the aim of enhancing the entertaining side of football and bringing joy to football fans around the world”.
Beyond traditional sponsorship, the two parties will collaborate on fan engagement activities and community programs.
Sekabet, known for its competitive odds, wide range of betting options, and user-friendly platform, has been rapidly expanding its footprint in the sports betting industry. The company recently partnered with AC Milan, further solidifying its position as a major player in the market.
With this pact, Sekabet has joined Etihad Airways as the club’s recent partnership announcement.
Girona FC’s remarkable 2023-24 season, which saw them finish third in the Primera División and qualify for the Champions League for the first time, has captured the imagination of fans around the world.
As the club prepares for the dual challenge of LALIGA and the Champions League, it has strengthened its squad with the signings of Donny van de Beek, Alejandro Francés, Abel Ruiz, and Ladislav Krejci. Their opening match against Real Betis on August 16 will be a tough test, but Girona will be eager to build on the momentum of last season.
