The global law firm, Gibson Dunn, has been named the official legal services provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, adding another strategic partner to the organising committee’s growing commercial ecosystem as preparations intensify for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Under the partnership, Gibson Dunn will provide legal counsel to LA28 and Team USA, supporting the organisation across the complex legal, regulatory and commercial matters involved in delivering one of the world’s largest sporting events. The appointment comes as Los Angeles prepares to host its third Olympic Games, following the 1932 and 1984 editions, while also staging the Paralympic Games for the first time.
Founded in Los Angeles more than 135 years ago, Gibson Dunn will draw on its global multidisciplinary practice to advise LA28 on commercial transactions, governance, intellectual property, employment law, litigation, regulatory compliance and contractual matters. The firm’s Sports Industry Group has advised professional leagues, teams, governing bodies, venues, sponsors, broadcasters and financial institutions on some of the industry’s most complex legal and commercial transactions, positioning it as a natural partner for an event of Olympic scale.

The Los Angeles Olympics are scheduled to take place from 14 to 30 July 2028, followed by the Paralympic Games from 15 to 27 August, with more than 15,000 Olympic and Paralympic athletes expected to compete across Southern California.
