Gameloft join hands with WinZO

India accounts for 12%, or more than 150 million people, of Gameloft’s downloads.

The Delhi-based social gaming platform, WinZO, has announced its association with the France-based global gaming giant, Gameloft. The partnership is penned down as Gameloft is looking to uplift its recognition in the Indian market.

The French gaming giant has more than 150 gaming titles with Asphalt 9 being the most popular one. Following this partnership, Gameloft will be using WinZO’s user base to improve its monetisation in India.

While by using WinZO’s consumers market, which is mainly based in India’s tier-2 to tier-5 markets and 80 % of them consume the games in non-English languages, Gameloft further plans to expand its user base in the country. The Indian social gaming platform will be offering its platform’s services, which include streaming, gaming formats, and WinZO Store to drive Gameloft’s revenue.

India accounts for 12%, or more than 150 million people, of Gameloft’s downloads. But it accounts for only 0.6% of the company’s worldwide income, which labels it as a high-potential market but it is yet to be fully explored by the French gaming giants. This is where WinZO will come to play which claims to have a user base of about 70 million, with more than 60% of the premium-paying customers conducting more than 2.5 billion micro-transactions per month.

Speaking in the occasion, Paavan Nanda, CEO and co-founder of WinZO, said: “WinZO is glad to have partnered with yet another world-class publisher Gameloft to help them leverage our strong market presence and its deep understanding. More than 60% of our over 65 million user base are premium paying users which makes us well-positioned to help big global companies to increase their presence in India’s booming vernacular gaming market. Today, India is at the forefront of the global gaming scenario and considering that we are at the cusp of this opportunity we believe we can ably leverage our tech and market capabilities to tap this boom and make it noticeable on the global grid.

While the official statement stated, “This serves as an apt opportunity for Gameloft to better monetise the vast engagement coming from the region.”
