fuboTV bags Premier League broadcasting rights

The broadcasting platform will exclusively air all 380 Premier League matches each season in Canada till the 2024/2025 season.

The American streaming service firm, fuboTV Inc. has acquired the broadcasting rights of the popular football league, Premier League to stream the tournament in the Canadian market. The partnership is termed for the next three seasons, starting from the season 2022/2023.

Through this association, the broadcasting platform will exclusively air all 380 Premier League matches each season in Canada till the 2024/2025 season. The content would be streamed live and real-time on the channels namely fuboTV and its subsidiary channel Fubo Sports Network.

David Gandler, the co-founder and CEO of the fuboTV commented on this collaboration and said, “The Premier League is considered to be the best soccer league in the world and has a huge fan base in Canada. This deal allows us to bring yet another top-notch property to fuboTV, further differentiating our content offering, and giving Canadians another reason to cut the cord for exciting, exclusive sports content.”

On this association, Paul Molnar, the chief media officer of the Premier League also gave his insights and said, “The Premier League is very happy to partner with fuboTV in Canada. We know there are many passionate Premier League fans in Canada and we are very pleased that fuboTV views the Premier League as such an important part of its programming mix in this market. We look forward to working together to bring the excitement of the Premier League to both new and existing fans.”

In addition to the Premier League rights for Canada, recently the television service has also bagged similar rights to the Italian football league, Serie A and Coppa Italia.

Apart from this, the firm has exclusive streaming rights of the Qatar World Cup 2022’s qualifying matches of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) in the US.
