Formula E has announced UK mobile and broadband provider giffgaff as its first official B Corp partner, further strengthening the championship’s sustainability-led commercial portfolio ahead of the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix.
The partnership unites two Certified B Corporations with a shared commitment to responsible business, environmental stewardship and community impact. It also builds on Formula E’s landmark achievement earlier this year of becoming the world’s first global sporting property to attain B Corp certification, reinforcing its strategy of partnering with brands whose commercial ambitions align with broader environmental and social objectives.
The collaboration will debut during the London E-Prix at ExCeL London on August 15-16, with giffgaff delivering an interactive fan activation designed to engage spectators throughout race weekend. Beyond brand visibility, the agreement places a strong emphasis on social impact.
As part of the partnership, giffgaff will contribute €25,000 to Big Issue, supporting programmes that help people facing poverty and financial hardship access employment opportunities. The donation forms part of Formula E’s Better Futures Fund, an initiative that invests in community projects across every host city on the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship calendar.
Kate Dohaney, giffgaff CEO, said, “Partnering with Formula E is a natural fit for us, as B Corp businesses that share a passion for innovation, sustainability, and community. At the heart of sport is connectivity and bringing people together, which is exactly what we believe is important at giffgaff. We’re excited to connect fans to the energy of the track and proud to be part of the ongoing impact the Better Futures Fund contribution will make.”
Julia Pallé, VP Sustainability, Formula E, added, “We are thrilled to team up with giffgaff for this exciting partnership, brought together by a deep alignment on values and a shared commitment to social and community impact. As the first and only global sport in the world to achieve B Corp status, Formula E is dedicated to driving progress on and off the track – and it was this unique heritage that sparked our collaboration with a fellow B Corp pioneer like giffgaff. Together, we are proud to deliver meaningful, real-world change by supporting The Big Issue through our Better Futures Fund, equipping Big Issue Recruit candidates with essential support to unlock new opportunities.”
Russell Blackman, Big Issue Managing Director, continued, “We’re grateful to Formula E and our long-standing partner giffgaff for unlocking this new support for Big Issue Recruit candidates. Big Issue Recruit works with many people experiencing severe financial hardship, so it’s vital they’re equipped with the technology they need to find a job in this increasingly digital age, and fantastic work experience opportunities like at Formula E’s Fan Village expand horizons and show them what is out there.”
The funding will directly support Big Issue Recruit, an employment programme that helps people experiencing financial hardship return to work by providing access to digital connectivity, training and career opportunities. As part of the initiative, selected candidates will also gain work experience within Formula E’s Fan Village during the London E-Prix.
The agreement further reinforces Formula E’s positioning as one of global sport’s leading sustainability-driven rights holders, demonstrating how commercial partnerships can extend beyond traditional sponsorship to generate tangible environmental and social outcomes. For giffgaff, whose latest B Corp recertification produced an improved impact score of 97.6, the collaboration provides a high-profile international platform to showcase its commitment to responsible business while engaging fans through one of motorsport’s most purpose-led championships.
