FIA Formula E World Championship has signed a new partnership with the tyre manufacturer company, Hankook. Following this new deal, the brand will serve as the new and exclusive technical partner and tyre supplier of the ABB.
The new tyre was formed in close collaboration with the racing series and is specifically tailored to meet the needs of Formula E and the perspective of e-mobility without sacrificing motorsport performance.
Almost 30% of the new tyre, which is specifically designed for the third generation of Formula E race cars, is crafted from recyclable sources. To save even more resources, Formula E teams now have direct exposure to a tyre variant that can be utilised in both dry and wet circumstances.
Besides that, the tyre’s lengthy reliability is a groundbreaking step. Hankook entirely recycles every set of tyres after each race weekend, guaranteeing that the tournament is as environmentally friendly as possible.
For the first time, the enthusiasts of motorsport will be able to witness Hankook tyres in race conditions. This deal would commence at the Mexico City E-Prix on January 14, 2023, and nearly 40,000 audiences are expected to watch the race live from the grandstand.
