Global payment services brand, Mastercard has extended its sponsorship deal with the Olympique Lyonnais Women’s football team, becoming the ‘Official Sponsor’ of the home shirt for the coming season.
As part of the deal, Mastercard logo will appear on the front of the players match and warm-up shirts for all top-tier matches in France and also appear on the pocket of the players shirts at all UEFA Women’s Champions League matches.
Mastercard is also committed to engage fans in a “unique and unforgettable way” and creating virtual experience for supporters especially during the tough times of Covid-19. Last year, Mastercard extended its sponsorship portfolio by partnering with Olympique Lyonnais team and a team of brand ambassadors to boost digital engagements via the priceless.com site.
Some of the experiences included Q&A session with the players, exclusive video content and also a chance of winning personalised digital coaching session with the favorite player. This season, fans will be able to access exclusive content for their favorite players and also win a chance to receive a jersey bearing the Mastercard logo.
In addition, Mastercard is also planning to launch virtual mascots program, wherein the fans can greet the players from their homes while the players line-up for entering the ground before the match.
