FIFA has reinforced its technology roadmap by expanding its global partnership with Globant, the digital services company that has become a central player in the sport’s modernisation efforts. The upgraded agreement names Globant as a tournament supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and major youth and esports events, placing the company at the core of FIFA’s digital transformation strategy.

Under the expanded mandate, Globant will deliver a suite of IT services, software engineering support, and large-scale digital platform development for FIFA. The scope includes enhancements to existing digital products, backend infrastructure upgrades, and the creation of a new mobile application aimed at improving accessibility and fan engagement worldwide.

The partnership builds on work that began in 2022 when Globant supported the launch of FIFA+, the organisation’s global streaming and content platform. Globant also contributed to digital delivery for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, while also powering elements of the FIFAe Series across esports.

Martin Migoya, Co-founder and CEO of Globant, said, “We are thrilled to deepen our collaboration with FIFA and jointly embark on this new phase of innovation for football. Technology can amplify the power of sport – enabling deeper connections, richer experiences and more personalised journeys for fans around the world.”

FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström added, “This new agreement between FIFA and Globant reflects each organisation’s vision to reimagine how football is experienced in the digital era, while preserving the emotion, community, and global reach that bring the game to every corner of the world. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with Globant as we build digital services that make our tournaments even more engaging and enjoyable for fans.”

The renewed partnership is expected to influence both fan-facing platforms and behind-the-scenes operational systems. Improvements in stability, data pipelines, live content delivery, and interactive features are likely to be introduced ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The emphasis on mobile-first tools supports FIFA’s broader push to expand access to official content and strengthen digital connections with a global fanbase.

Globant’s appointment as Tournament Supporter spans the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Europe, the FIFAe Finals 2025 in Saudi Arabia, and the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027 in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The deal also deepens Globant’s growing footprint in world sport, which already includes work with Inter Milan, the Saudi Pro League, Williams Racing, and Formula 1.

The announcement lands at a time when digital transformation has become essential to football’s commercial and media future. As tournaments face rising audience demands and increasingly complex digital environments, technology partners with scalable, data-intensive capabilities have become critical. The expanded Globant partnership signals FIFA’s intent to future-proof its digital infrastructure ahead of the largest World Cup ever staged.

FIFA continues to build commercial momentum around the 2026 cycle, adding global partners across technology, ecommerce, beverages, airlines, hospitality, and consumer goods. Recent signings include companies such as DoorDash, Sports Interactive, Hisense, Airbnb, Valvoline, Diageo, American Airlines, Sport 24, The Home Depot, Lenovo, Verizon, Lay’s, Bank of America, On Location, Aramco, and others supporting various categories.

On the pitch, nations are entering the final stretch of preparations for the 48-team FIFA World Cup 2026, with qualification pathways and venue development advancing toward completion. Updated match schedules and the final draw cycle are expected to shape tournament buildup in the months ahead.

FIFA’s next test event arrives with the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the United States, which will serve as an early trial for the new digital products and fan engagement platforms set to anchor the landmark 2026 edition.
