Ferrari appoints Santander as a premium partner

The deal includes the bank's logo to appear on the race suits and caps of the drivers.

Ferrari has announced a new partnership with the former sponsor Santander in a multi-year deal starting next season. The company had previously sponsored the team from 2010 to 2017. Ferrari has also announced that the bank has been appointed as the premium partner from 2022.

The deal includes the bank’s logo to appear on the race suits and caps of the drivers. Not just this, the logo will also be included in the activities that will involve the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Santander will appear on Ferrari’s branding outside of Formula 1. Santander’s logo will feature on the upcoming Le Mans Hypercar project and World Endurance Championship entries.

According to Ferrari, the partnership also intends to help the team to achieve their aim of being net carbon zero by 2030, thanks to Santander’s experience in assisting other brands to improve their environmental credentials.

Ferrari chairman, John Elkann, said, “It’s an honour to team up again with a global financial institution like Santander, which is committed to responsible banking and has shown leadership in renewable energy finance and ESG advisory services all around the world.

“We look forward to partnering with them to deliver our key objective of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. We believe Formula 1 with its innovations and technological developments will benefit our industry and ultimately society as a whole.”

Ana Botín, executive chairman of Banco Santander added, “We are very excited to work with Ferrari again and support them in the green transition.

“Santander is fully committed to tackling climate change, and as Europe’s leading provider of auto finance, we are determined to help the auto industry as it goes green. Our new partnership with Ferrari will accelerate our common progress.”
