FC Bengaluru United collaborates with GSI School Ooty

The residential initiative is meant to give emerging young footballers the chance to practice at a higher level.

To execute the United Pro High Performance Program in July 2022, FC Bengaluru United have collaborated with Good Shepherd International School in Ooty.

The residential initiative is meant to give emerging young footballers the chance to practice at a higher level, similar to that of a Hero I-League 2nd Division club, having certified All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) licensed coaches guiding them along the way.

The United Pro High Performance Program is a 14-day sufficiently high-intensity training programme that combines the United Pro School, United Academy, and FC Bengaluru United’s first squad. The purpose is to focus on strengthening the talent that will have an opportunity to play for the senior team and substitutes.

John Kenneth Raj, Technical Director, United Academy, said, “The training philosophy integrates key elements of Sports Science, including Strength & Conditioning, Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition and more.

“India has tremendous footballing potential and a structured High Performance Program like ours is ideal to guide and steer this talent.”

AIFF/AFC licensed coaches will conduct intensive and focused sessions as part of the programme. The structured strength and conditioning programmes will focus on growing and improving the muscular strength and endurance of the athletes. Whereas sports psychology workshops will assist athletes to comprehend competitive intensity, how to handle failures and successes, and more. The curriculum will also feature theory lessons on football strategy, movement, and the path of an Indian footballer from foundation to professional standard, among other topics.

The top performers in this programme may be selected for tryouts with Nimida Sports’ senior squad, FC Bengaluru United.
