The Bundesliga giants, FC Bayern Munich have developed a multi-year partnership with the German data software solutions provider, Zeotap.

The partnership’s essential goal in developing new digital content strategies will be to strengthen fan involvement on digital platforms for FC Bayern’s basketball and football teams, with a sponsorship component for the latter.

The German sports team will make use of Zeotap’s customer data platform to connect with FC Bayern’s local fan base in Germany and capitalise on its reputation as one of the most recognisable football teams in Europe and the globe.

Michael Diederich, Deputy CEO of FC Bayern, said, “FC Bayern always wants to be close and tangible for its fans, both here in Bavaria and across the world. The partnership with Zeotap represents a further milestone here, as we’ll now be able to reach the individual fan in a targeted and focused way, making the FC Bayern experience even more personal.”

Marko Pesic, Managing Director of FC Bayern Basketball, commented, “We are delighted that we and our team are involved in this new and important cooperation. Like FC Bayern as a whole, we also want to inspire our fans, and it’s important to maintain direct contact not only at our matches in the hall, but also worldwide via our digital platforms.”

The German record champions and Zeotap will aim to create new norms in digital fan interaction by leveraging modern technology to enhance the fan experience.

Daniel Heer, CEO and Founder of Zeotap, said, “We’re proud to have gained FC Bayern Munich as a partner for our CDP. Now it’s about giving everything to turn things into reality and produce excellent results.”

Football leagues and teams have made significant efforts to capitalise on digital content initiatives as a result of their tremendous followings on X, Facebook, and YouTube.

Most recently, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have inked a partnership with WSC Sports to discover new ways to communicate with its fans in France and across Europe via video content and fan-engagement posts.
