Red&Gold Football, the global player development joint venture between FC Bayern München and Los Angeles Football Club, has announced a new international development partnership with Sociedad Deportiva Aucas, strengthening its talent pathway presence in South America.
The agreement marks Red&Gold Football’s formal entry into the Ecuadorian football ecosystem and aims to create clear, structured development pathways for high-potential young players to progress into elite professional environments across Europe and North America.
Under the partnership, SD Aucas will operate as Red&Gold Football’s primary development partner in Ecuador. Both organisations will work closely to align coaching philosophies, performance benchmarks, sports science practices, and talent identification frameworks. The objective is to prepare Ecuadorian prospects to meet the technical, physical, and psychological demands of top-level football at an earlier stage of their development.
Jochen Sauer, Managing Director of Red&Gold Football, said, “Ecuador has consistently produced outstanding footballers, and we see tremendous potential in strengthening our presence in this dynamic football market. Our partnership with S.D. Aucas will allow us to work closely with an organisation that shares our philosophy of long-term player development. Together, we want to offer Ecuador’s most exciting talents opportunities to grow within high-performance environments in Europe and the United States.”
Danny Walker, President of S.D. Aucas added, “The collaboration includes a structured exchange of ideas, methodologies, and scouting and development philosophies between Munich, Los Angeles, and Quito. Aucas youth players will have ongoing opportunities to train, trial, or compete in tournaments in Europe and the United States. “
Players identified through Aucas’ academy and senior pathways will gain access to Red&Gold Football’s global scouting and development network, with potential progression routes into European football systems and Major League Soccer.
Beyond player movement, the partnership delivers institutional value for SD Aucas. The club will benefit from enhanced development infrastructure, modern performance methodologies, and international benchmarking, reinforcing its position as a long-term talent hub within Ecuadorian football.
The agreement also fits within Red&Gold Football’s wider strategy of building an interconnected global talent pipeline rather than relying solely on traditional scouting and transfers. While Racing Club de Montevideo continues to serve as Red&Gold Football’s primary South American hub, the addition of Aucas expands the organisation’s regional footprint and access to emerging talent markets.
Ecuador has earned a growing reputation as a producer of elite footballers, with players such as Moisés Caicedo, Willian Pacho, and former Aucas standout Diego Palacios demonstrating the country’s ability to develop players capable of succeeding at the highest levels in Europe and MLS.
