LEDVANCE has expanded its sports sponsorship portfolio after signing a long-term agreement with FC Bayern Munich, becoming the German football club’s official lighting partner until 2029.
The partnership grants LEDVANCE exclusive rights in the lighting technology and lighting solutions category and will see the company work alongside the Bundesliga champions on a range of lighting and infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing stadium operations, improving fan experiences and supporting future developments across the club’s facilities.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations, with LEDVANCE having previously delivered multiple lighting installations for FC Bayern. Under the expanded collaboration, the company will deploy its expertise across future projects, integrating advanced lighting solutions that enhance safety, operational efficiency and the overall matchday atmosphere.
The partnership also reflects the shared heritage of two globally recognised brands based in Munich. With LEDVANCE’s global headquarters located just a few kilometres from the Allianz Arena, both organisations will leverage the collaboration to showcase innovation in sports infrastructure while strengthening their international presence.
Commenting on the agreement, Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern Board Member for Marketing & Sales, said, “FC Bayern and LEDVANCE are united by their commitment to showcasing success in the right light. Elite sport is all about emotion, energy and special moments, and in LEDVANCE, we have gained a strong partner who, like our club, has its roots in Munich whilst also being at home all over the world. We look forward to many successful years together.”
Fredrik Ergert Von Gillern, Global Head of Brand & Communication at LEDVANCE, added, “It is no coincidence that this partnership has been formed in Munich: our headquarters are within direct sight of the Allianz Arena. Together with FC Bayern, we’re demonstrating what lighting can achieve – in terms of performance and safety, as well as the atmosphere in the stadium and around matchdays, which inspires people all over the world. For us, this partnership is a significant step towards further expanding our international project business and actively shaping the future of sports venues and beyond. At the same time, we are strengthening our global brand perception and sharpening our positioning.”
The agreement further strengthens FC Bayern’s commercial portfolio, following partnership announcements with Coca-Cola, Bitpanda and ERL Immobiliengruppe in 2026. For LEDVANCE, the collaboration provides a global platform to showcase its expertise in sports lighting and pursue new opportunities across stadiums, arenas and large-scale sports infrastructure projects worldwide.
