FC Barcelona have announced a new strategic partnership with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), appointing the Indonesian lender as the club’s official commercial banking partner in Indonesia through to December 31, 2027.

The agreement aligns one of Southeast Asia’s largest and longest-standing financial institutions with one of global sport’s most recognisable brands. While financial terms were not disclosed, the partnership is designed to strengthen FC Barcelona’s commercial footprint in Indonesia while supporting BRI’s wider brand positioning and digital engagement ambitions.

Under the terms of the deal, BRI will secure commercial rights to activate the FC Barcelona brand across Indonesia. This includes marketing and promotional rights, digital and fan engagement initiatives, and access to club-related experiences aimed at deepening connections with football fans and consumers nationwide.

Commenting on the occasion, Manel del Río, FC Barcelona Managing Director, said, “It is a pleasure to welcome Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) as a new partner of FC Barcelona. Asia Pacific is a strategic region for the Club, where we have a broad global fan base with whom we continuously seek to generate synergies and strengthen our connection. Through some of its products, this partnership will continue to promote the FC Barcelona brand worldwide and connect in a relevant way with new audiences in the country.”

Aquarius Rudianto, BRI’s Director of Network and Retail Funding, added, “FC Barcelona has a massive fan base in Indonesia, which BRI sees as a potential to build stronger relationships with our customers. Through this collaboration with FC Barcelona, we aim to inspire the public to carry the spirit of champions in every financial step they take. Moving forward, BRI will continue to build strategic partnerships aligned with the preferences and aspirations of the community.”

Founded in 1895, BRI is one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest banks, with a core focus on micro, small, and medium enterprises. The bank has played a central role in advancing financial inclusion across the country and has increasingly invested in digital banking and technology-led financial services to support its nationwide customer base.

For FC Barcelona, Indonesia represents one of the club’s most important markets in Asia. According to Global Web Index, the club counts approximately 29 million fans in Indonesia, contributing to a total of 243 million fans across the Asia Pacific region. The partnership is expected to further strengthen local engagement beyond the sporting context, using financial services and digital platforms as new touchpoints with fans.

The collaboration forms part of FC Barcelona’s market-specific partnership strategy, which focuses on working with leading local brands in key territories. By partnering with BRI, the club gains access to a nationwide banking network and a trusted institution with deep reach across both urban and rural Indonesia.

The agreement will run until the end of 2027, with both organisations expected to roll out joint campaigns and fan-focused initiatives as they look to leverage football, digital engagement, and financial services to drive sustained brand growth in the Indonesian market.
