FC Barcelona reportedly interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang recorded a total of 64 goals and 15 assists in 114 Premier League matches.

Spanish club FC Barcelona is reportedly in talks to sign Arsenal captain and Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

As per reports, Barcelona is looking to offer the Brazilian international Philipe Coutinho in exchange for Aubameyang.

During his time at Arsenal, Aubameyang recorded a total of 64 goals and 15 assists in 114 Premier League matches, the departure of Aubameyang comes after him struggling to find his goalscoring form over the last 12 months.

Arsenal signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back in the winter window of the 2017/18 season from the German side Borussia Dortmund for £56 million.

Aubameyang has proven to be the talisman for the Gunners proving to be one of the best signings in recent years for Arsenal.

If the deal is completed, Arsenal will lose a leader in attack however, they will gain a creative playmaker in Phillipe Coutinho who has been struggling to find his prolific form ever since his transfer to Barcelona from Liverpool in the winter of the 2017/18 season.

It is reported that negotiations for the deal is underway and Barcelona is looking to seal the deal as soon as possible.

Aubameyang finished the previous season with 15 goals for Arsenal and also missed the opening game of the new season as the newly promoted Brentford defeated Arsenal 2-0. Aubameyang missed the season opener due to illness, according to the manager Mikel Arteta.

Barcelona is looking to sign a leader in attack as they have failed in registering Sergio Aguero, who they have recently signed from Manchester City. Aubameyang can be the missing piece in the puzzle for FC Barcelona.
