FC Barcelona name Grupo Bimbo as main sponsor for women’s team

Grupo Bimbo has also secured a 'global partner' bundle of commercial rights from Barcelona.

The LaLiga club, FC Barcelona, has announced a new multi-year sponsorship agreement with a Mexico-based company, Grupo Bimbo. In this deal, the brand will become the main sponsor of the Spanish club’s women’s team.

The deal is valued at €3.5 million, as per sports business outlet 2Playbook, whilst it has not been disclosed how lengthy the agreement with the food manufacturing giant will last.

Furthermore, Grupo Bimbo has also secured a ‘global partner’ bundle of commercial rights from Barcelona. This also contains inventory from Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy and training centre.

Barcelona is among the major brands in the women’s game. The club won the Spanish league title for continuous three seasons now along with the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2021. The on-field accomplishment has sparked commercial value, with Heura Foods and GLS recently signing committed agreements with the Barcelona women’s team.

Grupo Bimbo joins 1xBet, Scotiabank, Estrella, Konami, Cupra, Allianz, Gatorade, Stanley, Chiliz, and VeganNation as the eleventh brand in Barcelona’s global sponsorship tier.
