Fashion has always forged collaborations that are as unique as they are renowned. Its history with football is quite spectacular. Be it, David Beckham, in the early 2000s or Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2010s, fashion brands have always associated with global football players to profound their image.
The current era is no different. In the last seven months, Jack Grealish became the highest recorded transfer by a British team, Son Heung-Min emerged as the first Asian player to win a golden boot in Premier League (PL) and Kylian Mbappe became the highest-paid player ever with an £800,000 per week contract.
So, it was no surprise that some renowned fashion brands would sign partnership agreements with these global stars.
Jack Grealish:
Jack Grealish penned a $1.7 million sponsorship deal with the Italian fashion giant, Gucci. The deal appoints Grealish as the brand ambassador. The deal is reported to be £12m a year.
Grealish is an English professional footballer who plays for the Premier League club, Manchester City and the England national team.
Grealish recently teamed up with Special Olympics GB, with the goal of increasing awareness of the charity’s work throughout the country.
Son-Heung Min:
Son Heung-Min inked a brand endorsement deal with the UK luxury fashion company, Burberry earlier this week.
Son, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur in the English top-flight, has endorsement deals with Cartier, Gillette, and Adidas which provides him with football footwear. He is represented by the CAA Sports agency in Los Angeles.
On his association with Burberry, Son said, “I’m happy to be the new ambassador for Burberry.
“Being an athlete from the Premier League, it’s my honour to partner with a brand so rich in British heritage. I love Burberry’s strive for imagination and innovation which has been deeply inherited in its history, which are values that I champion.
“I’m very excited for our newfound journey that we will together develop.”
Kylian Mbappe:
The French luxury fashion brand, Dior appointed the PSG star Kylian Mbappe as its brand ambassador. Following the deal, the 22-year-old was appointed as the model for Kim Jones’ clothing designs.
He is partnered with brands including Nike and Hublot. He also appeared on the title cover for football games FIFA 21 and 22.
Mbappe recently announced his production company, Zebra Valley. The footballer intends to providing opportunities to youth talents through his production company.
